The temple and many homes at this hamlet are in ruins. Kuldhara is 118 km from Jaisalmer. It takes only 4 hours to reach Jodhpur which is yet another ancient city flanked with forts and palaces. Over many centuries Jaisalmer has been a trading route for merchants from South Asia and Persia. Jaisalmer is very hot and humid for the most part of the year except for winters. Winters start from November and end in March and is the best time to visit Jaisalmer. Summers run between April and August and are very hot. The rainy season runs between September and October and receives fewer rains during this season.
