1. Do not show your palm

Showing your palm write on someone’s face is not a very good gesture in Greece. It is a sort of inappropriate and the person might feel abusive by this behavior. Especially the Greece people believe that respecting each other is the major requirement for every individual. Therefore pointing out things in a graceful way rather than showing your palm is a good idea.

2. Do Not Rush In Greece

Well, timing is important for everything. But in Greece timing is a little delayed. Whenever a Greece local say that he is going to come in 5 minutes it’s actually more than 15 minutes. It’s just a thing that Greece people do. They do not rush into anything and prefer to take time for things. However you need to get on time for your bus or airplanes, things for other personal issues are always delay in Greece.

3. Do Not Be Afraid To Speak Few Greek Words

Greek alphabets and language are not easy to learn but you can try some few common words. Words like ‘hello’, ‘thank you’, and ‘please’ are always appreciated by the locals. and greeks are very hospitable with friendly attitude so it will be easy to open up to themselves if you try to speak Greek. Even a few Greek words will make them very happy and you can easily become friends with them.

4. Do Not Forget To Bring A Gift To Someone’S House

If ever you are lucky enough to have been invited to a Greek family, do not forget to get a gift for them. It is like a tradition and culture that everyone who visits someone’s house must get some flowers, candy or anything that fits. It will familiarise the situation and make everyone happy.

5. Do Not Shy Away From Sharing

Greek people are often known to share food while they eat. And Greek sharing means fewer people with large proportions of food. So you might see while having a dinner with a freak family that four people have three large portions of food. Large proportions are meant to be shared with each other so don’t be embarrassed if you come across the same situation it is very common in Greece to eat this way.

6. Do Not Forget Your Own Drivers’ License

If you are on a tour of Greece and want to travel across the car then you surely need a driver’s license. For American tourists, an international license is a must to rent a car while for other foreign countries, just the native driver’s license will do the work. So do not forget to bring your driver’s license in Greece.

7. Do Not Freak About The Strikes In Greece

You might be wondering about the strikes that happen from time to time in Greece. Strikes have the possibility to cancel your public transportation reservation. But don’t worry as there is always an alternative. Strikes can happen just like any other country but it will not affect you in any way. You can even see live the strikes and protests and still not harm yourself.

8. Don’T Expect Summer Destinations In Offseason

There are numerous tourist places you can visit in Greece. Sothe first thing to do is not to skip visiting these beautiful destinations. However, these places tend to be closed in the offseason. You can still visit and do some sightseeing but nearby lodge and restaurants will most probably be closed in an offseason. So just go for tourism in a good time of year to have the maximum benefits out of it.

9. Do Not Cheap Out On Greek Ferries

You might want to consider ferries for going to different islands but it not the best idea. A ferry might cost less but it will take a huge time to travel. Where it takes 7 to 8 hours in a ferry, it only takes less than an hour on the flight. So just book the tickets and hop on your flight to get to the mainland.

10. Do not forget sunblock

You will see many red burns on people here as the sun is too strong. It is essential to bring a sunscreen of your own rather than purchasing in Greece as they are so expensive. So if you don’t want to look all-tanned do not forget to carry a sunblock and apply it multiple times a day without fail.

Greece is a lovely country where you can go sightseeing. Along with enjoying just tourist places, you can also have the privilege of being invited to a Greek family. The environment of the Greeks is so hospitable that you will love them.
As mentioned above please do not forget to gift the Greece family when you visit them for the first time in their home. Also, learn a few Greek words which will make you very impressive. The people are very sweet and will greet you humbly as long as you follow these guidelines. Not everyone follows these rules but still if you do, you will be loved by them.
